Official Banner embodies the dynamic essence of la GALERIE IMAGINAIRE, a concept that refuses to be confined within fixed parameters, as demonstrated by Viriya Chotpanyavisut's exhibition 'Oil.' Unlike a traditional static signboard, this emblem evolves through the creative expressions of artists. Its adaptable nature enables it to transform itself into a unique representation at any location. From Paradise Island, Bahamas, where it initially unfurled in 2015, to the diverse corners it has ventured into, this project resonates with the spirit of nomadism. Guided by Yann Sérandour's playful instructions, the banner became an integral part of daily life, serving not just as a sign but also as a versatile accessory—whether as a pareo, scarf, or sunshield. Bridging the realms of public and private, it forges connections between spaces and individuals, constantly evolving with each contribution. As
la GALERIE IMAGINAIRE continues to unfold, this ever-changing emblem reflects the boundless creativity of artists and the collaborative essence of this venture. Just as imagination knows no boundaries, this banner transcends the conventional, inviting us to embrace the evolving narratives it carries. Oil By Viriya Chotpanyavisut October
